Data entry is the first step of using a computer program, and sometimes it can be time consuming and source of errors. For Novo Tech programs, input data generally comprises:

  1. Project information and drilling method,
  2. Subsurface soil stratigraphy for the subejct site,
  3. Site seismic information (e.g. PGA),
  4. List of boreholes / test pits, and
  5. In-situ test results, such as SPT, CPT, etc.

In order to facilitate importing data from other computer programs (e.g. gINT, Excel, etc) to our programs, we have developed a state of the art component called SmartSync. The following diagram illustrates the functionality of the SmartSync:

Following is a list of main features incorporated into SmartSync:

  • Import from gINT database files
  • Import from Microsoft Access database (*.mdb files)
  • Import from Microsoft Excel file (*.xls files)
  • Handling complexity and variability of database files
  • Using 'Mapping Files' for faster loading from databases
  • Exporting dataset to any COM ActiveX component or .Net Assembly
  • Printing the dataset directly to a printer
  • Saving dataset to Microsoft Excel format
  • Saving dataset to Text format
  • Saving soil stratigraphy and plot of field testresults, to image format (e.g. PNG, JPG, BMP files)
